Jane Farley, Project Management Visionary and Strategist

Jane Farley is from Auckland and has been a volunteer leader since joining the Project Management Institute (PMI) in 1996. Jane is a past president of PMINZ and in 2003 was awarded “Fellow of PMI New Zealand” (FPMINZ) for her volunteering and her significant contributions to the chapter.
Jane is currently a director on the 2010 PMI Board of Directors and a member of PMI’s Strategic Planning & Program Alignment (SPPA) Committee. Jane is a proven leader with more than 27 years experience in strategy, business operations and project, programme, and portfolio management, primarily in Australia and New Zealand. Her diverse background includes experience in central and local government, information services, information technology, financial services, utilities and telecommunication industries.
As a portfolio manager for Auckland City Council, she is responsible for the “Auckland’s CBD into the Future” strategy and waterfront redevelopments. Jane has oversight of the NZ$963.9 million capital works and other projects related to this effort.
Jane’s numerous professional recognitions include IBM’s prestigious, global “2005 PM Excellence Award” for her program management expertise. She obtained her Project Management Professional (PMP)® in 1998, and graduated from the PMI Leadership Institute Masters Class in 2005.
